The title is a portmanteau of sorts, a combination of:

slack-jawed [slak-jawd] adjective

Having one’s mouth hanging open, especially as an indication of awe, astonishment, bewilderment, outrage, etc..

jot [jot] verb

To write down or mark down quickly or briefly

slackjot [slack-jot] noun

A blog on which I write about things in American politics and society that leave me slack-jawed in astonishment. And other things that astound me in a manner not necessarily negative. Things I like. Things I think that people should know. Thinking out loud. Or maybe it’s all just bullshit.
